State Department’s Briefing 2.0 Has Stalled But …

Towards the end of Dr. Rice’s tenure as Secretary of State, Public Affairs (PA) under Sean McCormack started Briefing 2.0 via YouTube. With the new administration and an official spokesman not yet named, it’s hard to tell if the short-lived Briefing 2.0 will make a comeback. But the State Department has expanded its social media’s reach to now include the following:

-DipNote Blog

-Facebook

-YouTube

-Flickr

-Twitter

I am pleased to see the addition of Flickr in this collection. The photo stream represents official photos archived by the U.S. Department of State and although not marked for public domain, all are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-No Derivative Works 2.0 Generic license.

Update on my minor rant about US Embassy Jakarta’s photo of Ambassador Cameron Hume feeding the sharks, splashed with the embassy’s URL right in the middle – the label has now been removed. Take a look ... much better, huh?
