Confirmed: Fernandez, Barton, Kennard, Lomellin, King

On November 20, 2009, the US Senate confirmed the following executive nominations for the State Department:

PN872 * DEPARTMENT OF STATE (EEB) Jose W. Fernandez, of New York, to be an Assistant Secretary of State (Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs).

PN954 * DEPARTMENT OF STATE (ECOSOC) Frederick D. Barton, of Maine, to be Representative of the United States of America on the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, with the rank of Ambassador.

PN1000 * DEPARTMENT OF STATE (UNGA) Frederick D. Barton, of Maine, to be an Alternate Representative of the United States of America to the Sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations, during his tenure of service as Representative of the United States of America on the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

PN873 * DEPARTMENT OF STATE (EU) William E. Kennard, of the District of Columbia, to be Representative of the United States of America to the European Union, with the rank and status of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

PN955 * DEPARTMENT OF STATE (OAS) Carmen Lomellin, of Virginia, to be Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the Organization of American States, with the rank of Ambassador.

PN1015 * DEPARTMENT OF STATE (G/SENK) Robert R. King, of Virginia, to be Special Envoy on North Korean Human Rights Issues, with the rank of Ambassador.
